If you want to keep that rustic appeal of your garden fresh then the next best thing that you could do is to paint your garden bricks. So how will you go about this?
Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is to wash the entire brick surface with a power washer. Simply doing it without a power washer is extremely difficult and will only give sub-optimal results. Make sure that you use a power washer and set its pressure to 1500 psi and then hold the nozzle at least 5 feet away from the surface. Doing so will keep the bricks from getting damaged by the pressure.
Step 2: It might seem unbelievable but give the bricks at least 4 days for them to completely dry because bricks can really take long to dry. When the bricks are already dried, use a paint roller and then apply a thin coat of primer over the bricks. Make sure that you use paint that is manufactured to paint masonry. You will know this by reading the painting instructions or manufacturer’s instructions on the can of paint itself. Then let the primer dry for 24 to 48 hours.
Step 3: Use a paint roller to paint the bricks with an exterior acrylic latex paint and then give it at least 24 hours for it to dry. Afterward, paint some of the portions that are lacking paint and or retouch some of the areas which seem to have unequal paint.
The task may seem difficult but painting bricks is similar to painting your home’s interior. Just make sure that the bricks are already conditioned before you start painting them.
